Swingshift were a jazz influnced pop group resident in Western Australia, who enjoyed quite a bit of success there in the late 60's. They recorded 2 singles for Martin Clarke's now very collectable Clarion Records, with this excellent version of the Bee Gees "Words" reaching #5 on the Perth Charts in November 1969. Lead singer Joy Mulligan provides the excellent lead vocal. Their wonderfully named Guitarist Ants Neeme went on to form The Contemporary Jazz Ensemble & also arranged & recorded music for the cult Australian movie "Marijuana: Possession and the Law"
