Experience a scenic coastal drive through Dumbartonshire, Scotland, from Dumbarton to Arrochar via Helensburgh, Gare Loch, and Loch Long. Stunning mountain and loch views along one of Scotland’s most overlooked routes.
A drive in the historic county of Dumbartonshire along the coast from Dumbarton to Arrochar. Driving through Cardross, stopping at Monty’s Farm near Ardmore then continuing through Helensburgh. The drive from Rhu to Garelochhead was fantastic with the sun’s reflection on the Gare Loch. We stopped near Porticaple to view Loch Long and the entrance to Loch Goil. We continued along the eastern shore of fjord-like Loch Long with fantastic views of the hills of the Ardgoil peninsula and the dramatic mountains of the Arrochar Alps - with the Cobbler (Ben Arthur) in particular looking majestic. The journey ends at Arrochar at the head of Loch Long. Filmed on the eve jug of the 28th October 2025.
