Walk from Rifugio Lavarella to Refugio Lagazuoi via Passo Tadega and Forcella del Lago.
First you go to Rifugio Fanes, continue along the AV1 route 11 passing shimmering Lago di Limo (2157 m). As you ascend the slopes of the Fanes group pause to admire the views to the southern mountain ranges and Marmolada. Crossing the grassy bowl of the Passo Tagéda, take the route 20B and climb the slopes of Forcella del Lago (2486 m). There is a steep descent on a path through scree, to Lago Lagazuoi (2182 m). From Lago Lagazuoi, ascend on a zig-zag path (turning onto route 401) to the rifugio Lagazuoi (2752 m). Here in the Parco Naturale delle Dolomiti d’Ampezzo you’ll see remnants of the Austrian- Italian WWI front line. At the balcony, you van see the open-air ‘Museo all’aparto della Grande Guerra’ with its interpretation boards.
