Jerry wrote asking how he could go about fixing a side pass on a horse. I think we often get sloppy at things when we speed up, at least I do, so 've learned to slow down and take it step by step and in the case of fixing a side pass, this is literal. The horse often anticipates, so if he is doing it on a side pass which begins to look like a leg yield (going forward and sideways at the same time), I think slowing the horse down and asking for a step (with precise cues) then give him a release, and give him a moment to think about it too, before you repeat.
