Doug's birthday wish

Hi Everyone!

My name is Douglas Carnes, and I’m the founding director of Danu Young Women’s Choir in Ireland.

Danu is a family of over 150 young women each season (ages 18 and under) who come together to sing, grow and belong. At its heart, Danu is about far more than music, it’s about creating a safe, empowering space where young women can be fully themselves, build confidence, form lifelong friendships, and share their voices with the world. We truly believe music can change lives, and even change the world.

This year, for my birthday, I’m asking for one simple gift: your support.
That might mean sharing this page, engaging with our work online, or making a donation — $2 is incredible, $2,000… okay, okay, you're making me blush Every single contribution makes a real difference.

As we look to the coming seasons, our dreams for Danu are growing. We want to:

Continue expanding our program
Give our singers the resources, opportunities, and care they deserve
Travel and share our music more widely
And one day, find a space we can truly call home

Our goal is simple: to support these young women as fully as possible during the precious time we have them, helping them find their voices — musically and personally.
