Hideaki Kobayashi graduated from Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tohoku University in 1981 and received Dr. Eng. degree in 1991 from Tohoku University. He became associate professor of Institute and Fluid Science in 1992 and has been promoted to full professor in 2003. His major field of research is fundamentals of combustion.
