京都市内からレトロな嵐電に乗り市内北西の嵐山へ向かう。
市内の喧騒から逃れるように、およそ25分の電車道。
喧騒の先には、春の喧騒が待っていた。
春の京都嵐山は、日本の美を象徴する情景が広がる。
小春日和の下、優しい陽射しに包まれる嵐山界隈は、訪れる人々を優雅な気分へと誘う。
天龍寺は嵐山を代表する寺院。京都五山の第一位とされ、世界遺産に登録されている。
足利尊氏を開基とし、後醍醐天皇の菩提を弔うため暦応2年（1339年）に創建された。
かつて広大な寺域と壮麗な伽藍を誇った天龍寺は度重なる火災に見舞われた歴史を持つ。
さらに、応仁の乱による被害は甚大で、天正13年（1585年）豊臣秀吉の寄進により復興が叶った。
大方丈裏庭の曹源池庭園は、夢窓疎石の作庭による池泉回遊式庭園。
嵐山や亀山を取り込む借景式庭園で国指定の特別名勝と史跡となっている。
この美しい庭園に癒しを求めて多くの旅行者が大方丈の軒先で佇む。
小方丈から多宝殿へ繋がる回廊から望む百花苑の眺めも優美。
春の天龍寺は、満開の桜が庭園を彩る。なかでも見どころは、多宝殿前の枝垂れ桜だ。
また高台に登ると広々とした境内一望でき、満開の桜を見下ろせる絶景に出会える。
百花苑を道伝いに進むと北門へ続き、その先は嵐山の名物竹林の小径が待ち受ける。
京都を代表する名所のひとつ竹林の小径は、天龍寺北門から大河内山荘へ抜ける約400メートルの遊歩道。
ここは、平安時代は貴族の別荘地だった場所だ。
竹林の小径を歩けば、青々とした竹林に包まれ圧倒される。
春風に揺れる音が心地よく響き、木漏れ日が心地よい。
静寂の竹林の中、鶯の声が優しく響き渡る。
束の間、忙しい日々を忘れ自然との一体感を心穏やかに味わえる。
渡月橋は、史跡・名勝として嵐山を象徴する建造物である。
承和3年（836年）に僧侶の道昌が架橋したのが始まりとされる。
以来、流失と架橋を繰り返し、時には兵火にも見舞われた。
現在の橋は昭和9年（1934年）に完成した桁橋である。
渡月橋からの風景は春夏秋冬、時間帯によって表情を変える。
春には周囲の満開の桜が、風情ある景色を楽しませてくれる。
夕暮れに染まる渡月橋も時の流れを忘れて眺めてられる情景である。
時代を超えて愛される京都嵐山の風景である。

The garden is designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and a Historic Site by the national government.
Many visitors come to the garden to take a rest and relax in the eaves of the Daihojo.
The view of the Hyakkaen Garden from the corridor leading from the Ko Hojo to the Tahouden Hall is also elegant.
In spring, cherry blossoms in full bloom color the garden at Tenryu-ji Temple. The highlight is the weeping cherry tree in front of Tahoden Hall.
Climbing to the top of the hill, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the spacious temple grounds and the cherry blossoms in full bloom.
The path through the Hyakkaen Garden leads to the North Gate, where a small path through the bamboo grove awaits visitors.
The Bamboo Grove Path, one of Kyoto's most famous landmarks, is a 400-meter promenade that runs from Tenryuji Temple's North Gate to the Okochi Villa.
In the Heian period (794-1185), this area was a villa for aristocrats.
Walking along the bamboo grove path, you will be overwhelmed by the lush green bamboo forest.
The sound of the bamboo swaying in the spring breeze echoes pleasantly, and the sunlight filtering through the trees is comfortable.
In the quietness of the bamboo grove, the voice of a Japanese bush warbler echoes softly.

The Togetsu Bridge is a symbolic structure of Arashiyama as a historic site and a place of scenic beauty.
The bridge is said to have been built in 836 by the monk Dosho.

The current bridge is a girder bridge completed in 1934.
The scenery from the bridge changes with the seasons and time of day.
In spring, the surrounding cherry blossoms in full bloom provide a picturesque view.
The bridge is also a sight to behold at dusk, when you can forget the passage of time.
