The city had been dead for years, or so the survivors claimed. From the cliffs above the overgrown skyline, you could almost believe them, until the rain came. That’s when the echoes started. They drifted between the hollow towers, rising and falling like voices trying to remember how to speak. The sound carried farther on days like this, when the mist swallowed the streets and the puddles reflected a world that isn't quite yours anymore. At least they don't know you're here, for now.
