With our food stocks running low, we must venture out to the deep frozen lake to attempt a difficult survival technique: setting a net under 2 meters of solid ice.
In this episode, we use our new sled to haul heavy gear onto the frozen lake. Watch as we chisel through the thick ice, thread a guide rope using a floating 'jig', and pull up a massive harvest of Arctic Pike and Whitefish to feed us for the coming weeks.
Back at the hut, we begin the intricate process of sewing traditional reindeer fur boots (Mukluks) to keep our feet warm in the deadly -50°C temperatures.
