Here’s What Happened to the Hee Haw Cast

The Hee Haw cast brought charm and spice to the beloved show and featured actors like Loretta Lynn, Roy Acuff, and Barbi Benton, among many others. On June 5th, 1969, the show Hee Haw aired on CBS for the first time. It raked in millions of viewers who were interested in old school country music, and a classic style of humor. It ran for an amazing total of 26 seasons and 665 episodes, before its eventual end on December 27th, 1997.

Before Hee Haw aired, the most popular show on the network was Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, another comedy featuring pop music and popular culture. Hee Haw filled a similar niche in order to compete with such a highly rated show, but featured country music and are more dated style than the ultra-modern Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In.

Despite its rural backdrop, Hee Haw featured numerous bombshell actresses, who often wore very little clothing on the show. The show may have marketed itself as family-friendly, but it had a tendency to push the envelope.

Of course, the show would have been nothing without its brilliant cast. It featured many already famous actors, but many up-and-coming actors soon found fame on the show, as well.
