Dan Novak and Ashley Thompson host today's Learning English show.

First: Economic experts and some government officials are saying that the reported strength of the U.S. economy could be from an increase in productivity. The measure compares what the economy produces to what was needed to produce it. John Russell reports.

Next: The U.S. food and drug agency recently approved an asthma medication for use in treating people for food allergies. Anna Matteo reports about the development for the LE Health and Lifestyle Report. After the report, Anna joins Dan Novak in the studio where she answers a few of his questions about the story.

Then: It is time for LE's Lesson of the Day. Andrew Smith and Jill Robbins base their instruction on the LE video series Let's Learn English, Level 2. Today, they focus on modal verbs "ought to" and "supposed to" as series star Anna Matteo counts birds and runs from a man she mistakenly thinks is a spy!

Dan and Ashley close the show.
