HS2 A43 Oxford Road

Since my last visit in early March, steel beams have been lifted into place on the A43 overbridge which is under construction, and excavation of the cutting has started on the south side.

Deck concreting and parapet installation will then take place, before the road is realigned over the new bridge early next year, which will then allow excavation works.

At the beginning of the footage work continues on Footpath Overbridge AX15 AIUI, not sure as the plans may have changed but not been updated, but is being built on the old GCR alignment. The Great Central mainline was closed in 1960's.

HS2 is the UK's new high speed railway linking London to Birmingham and the north.
Trains are due to cross here in the early 2030's.
