[MUSIC] 'La Vie en rose' (Alastor Cover Ver.) (Hazbin Hotel Pilot)

A full cover version of 'La Vie en rose' in character as Alastor, featuring additional original sound design and production. The instrumental used in this video is from Sing2Piano's karaoke accompaniment, which you can listen to on its own here:    • Édith Piaf - La vie en rose (Karaoke Piano)  

This one was initially an experiment into trying out new radio effects using another old time song that fit Alastor's aesthetic and the popular idea that he speaks French. But as the original version of 'La Vie en rose' is one of my favourite pieces of music, I decided to do the full thing justice. Even with the difficulties of singing in French since it isn't a language I speak, it was quite the fun challenge. I chose to base the actual performance as close as I could to Édith Piaf's original vocals and pronunciation, so I hope I did alright!

Sing2Piano's instrumental served as a perfect choice, with the real time recorded performance sounding more genuine than how I could arrange it using my own software. To balance out using another instrumental apart from my own this time, I made sure to add as much detail to the setup of the 'scene' as I could, similar to the cover of 'We'll Meet Again'. The image of Alastor's powers manifesting as he played, only to be briefly interrupted by someone hearing the song and entering to hear him. Who that person is is up to you.
