Everything You Always Wanted to Hear on the Moog (but were afraid to ask for)
By Andrew Kazdin and Thomas Z. Shepard
00:00 Chabrier: España
06:21 Lecuona: Malagueña
09:49 Bizet: Carmen
15:28 Ravel: Bolero
This album does contain classical pieces of music. However, these are rather unique Moog Synthesizer take on these pieces. Columbia records released this album in 1972 but it has long been out of print. I have no idea why it was never been released on CD. I remember this album with much nostalgia from my High School days when I had the LP. I still like hearing these odd takes on very popular Spanish classical music. Even the applause and whistling at the end of Bolero are Moog sounds!
These recordings must have taken a very long time to produce. Each part had to be played individually and mixed in with the rest of the parts as the result was being built. The time and effort this took is almost unimaginable. Kazdin and Shepard must have been very patient men!
