Thrillist - Taco Fuego - Chicago, IL

From a longtime engineer/Mexican food aficionado who quickly grew restless after a brief retirement, Fuego's a bright, big-windowed, 24-seat taqueria with pale wooden tables that's dropping (and delivering) all manner of Mexican grub 'til 6am on weekends, appropriate as that's around the time you start believing you understand ESPN Deportes. Tacos're filled 10 different ways (shrimp, barbacoa, chorizo, etc), plates range from red mole enchiladas to steak ranchero, and there's even a monster foot-plus-long burrito -- finish in under 30 minutes and dinner's free...and still horny! There's also all-day breakfast (chilaquiles, Eggs Fuego w/ chorizo and spicy salsa...), Mexican riffs on gringo grub including a guac/grilled jalapenos/pico de gallo hot dog, and desserts like cornflake-covered deep fried ice cream balls, which if thrown will certainly drip from the windows to the walls.
