Two-year-old Eunike and her parents live in Jakarta, Indonesia. At the age of four months, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, but the specific type of tumor remained unclear. Worldwide, about 40 % of all children and adolescents with cancer die from their disease. Accurate cancer diagnostics and access to appropriate therapies could significantly improve the success of treatment.
With the recently launched "MNP Outreach" program, Hopp Children's Cancer Center Heidelberg (KiTZ), the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD) aim to provide low-income countries worldwide with free access to modern precision diagnostics.
Watch Eunike’s story and learn how modern precision diagnostics may improve the treatment of children with cancer worldwide. More information about the “MNP Outreach” program: https://www.kitz-heidelberg.de/en/the...
Big thank you to the patients and their families for sharing their stories, to the scientists & physicians at the MNP partner sites for giving insight into their work and supporting this film and to Illumina and the organization BILD hilft e.V. “Ein Herz für Kinder" for supporting the project.
