Philippines Vlog: Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, also known as Puerto Princesa Underground River, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The underground river stretches 8.2 km and flows into the West Philippine Sea. The tour covers only a short distance and takes about 45 minutes.
Things to know before you go:
The tours are well-organized, require no trekking, swimming, skill or gear of any kind. It's an easy-to-do activity for just about anyone. Being a popular destination, means it's also somewhat crowded. This could be considered a pro or con depending on what you're looking for. ...Oh and watch out for the monkeys. They'll jump you and take whatever they can.
Getting There:
The Underground River is located in Barangay Sabang, 1 1/2 hours Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, take a shuttle van to Sabang Port. Then it's a 15 minute motorboat ride up the coast to the beach entrance of the National Park. From the beach, it's a 2 minute walk to the river.
