Cystic fibrosis-related diabetes (CFRD) is a unique diabetes that is common in people with CF. Emma Canning, an adult living with cystic fibrosis, was pre-diabetic at 13. However, it didn't affect her day-to-day life until she was officially diagnosed with cystic fibrosis-related diabetes (CFRD) her senior year of high school. Today, Emma shares how her life has changed since being diagnosed, and why she is excited about the future of advancements for CFRD.
Emma's story was originally featured in plenary 2, "The Tipping Point: The Journey to Understand & Advance Research in CFRD" during the 2024 North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference.
