Johnny Mathis ~ Like No One In the World ~

The video, featuring this great song, "Like No One In the World", from Johnny's 1996 CD, "All About Love", takes a peek at one of Johnny's other loves in life aside from music -- Golf.
He often speaks in interviews of how much he loves the sport, playing daily when not touring. Clearly a passion and another incredible talent (Johnny recently achieved his 9th career hole in one-!). This video would not have been possible without the generosity of several devoted UK fans who shared their photos of Johnny playing in golf tournaments over the years at The Mere, a beautifully designed and challenging course in Cheshire, Northern England. Many thanks to my dear friend (and photo agent!) Carol, and to Margaret B., Molly S. and other JM fans. Very much appreciated. Photos from The Mere were taken in 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000. Earlier photos, from the 1970's and 80's, are all UK (possibly including Scotland), and one U.S. photo: Johnny in striped polo shirt in the 1970's, playing in The Bob Hope Classic. Photos of courses alone include 2 of Johnny's usual golf 'haunts' in L.A., (according to an article by him in a May 2009 issue of Golf Digest), MountainGate and Riviera. Two other courses, towards the last third of the video, where Johnny has played include the Moor Allerton Golf Club in Yorkshire, UK., also famous for it's design, and the Beth Page Black course in Farmingdale, Long Island (NY), where Johnny has played over the years when performing at Westbury Theater. All are prestigious, world renown courses. Towards the end is a great photo of Johnny with members of The Mathis Connection at The Mere. I hope you enjoy watching these wonderful candid shots of Johnny as much as I enjoyed putting this together. - The 'love' Johnny sings of in the song is to - the 'lady" golf ( we'll call her a 'lady' for today. Why not? It's an elegant sport, challenging, beautiful, frustrating, fun.... let's see what other adjectives fit the gender??) ! Please enjoy.
