This video is of the final of the Lifford GAA tournament in 1982. The prizes were sponsored by the late Gertie McSorley R.I.P. (married to a Tyrone man) who owned the Pharmacy in Lifford and a native of Killygordon. She presented a trophy for the final in honour of her late father John Noonan who was an avid follower of the GAA, and the trophy was presented by her brother Jackie Noonan a great GAA follower himself to the winning captain. On the occasion the game was refereed by Tomas Bogle (Clady). The umpires were the late Joe Gormley, and Liam McCrory two club stalwarts and also Enda McDermott and Paddy Joe McNelis. Brendan Needhan club treasurer along with the late Toy Devine kept all other matters under control. The game ended in poor light and there was a very enjoyable presentation function in the Central Bar of Silver Tankards and Cavan Crystal to the winners and runners up. Red Hughs team represents Killygordon/Crossroads in Co. Donegal and Owen Roes Dunamanagh, Co Tyrone. (since then there has been a change in club areas).
