Mr. Epp & The Calculations was Mark Arm's (now famous from Mudhoney/Green River etc.) first band. It was formed when he was still in high school. Mark met Steve Turner through playing in Mr. Epp, they instantly became good friends and went on to form many seminal and important grunge acts. Mr. Epp was kind of a joke band, the band was named after their math teacher. They released one EP through Johnny Rubato's Pravda Records in 1982, and some of their recordings ended up on compilation tapes. They played sloppy as hell but it sure had gave them a distinct and interesting sound, that I'm digging!
Mr. Epp & The Calculations (1978-1984) were:
Jo Smitty - vocals/guitar on Mohawk Man
Mark Arm - guitar/vocals on Mohawk Man
Todd Why? - bass
Darren Mor-X - drums
(joined in 1983, after the EP was released) Steve Turner - 2nd guitar
