Welcome to our Reinforced Concrete Design series to Eurocode 2.
In this lecture, Topic 7: Redistribution, we explore the plastic behaviour of reinforced concrete beams and how bending moments can be redistributed to achieve more economical and practical structural designs.
We discuss the theory behind moment redistribution, its effect on beam behaviour, and the design requirements set by Eurocode 2 to ensure ductility and rotational capacity.

✅ Compare elastic and plastic global analysis and introduce moment redistribution
✅ Demonstrate redistribution using a fixed-end beam under UDL example
✅ Show how load capacity increases after hinge formation at supports and midspan

✅ Describe the Eurocode 2 design procedure with redistribution of moments
