The new upgrade kit is easier to install and more robust compared to the old upgrade kit. However, please note that the specifications of the linear rails used in the new upgrade kit are different from those in the old version.

Ender 3 S1 Pro New Y-Axis Upgrade Rail Installation Guide
1.Remove the hand-tightened nut and keep it aside for later use.
2.Take off the hotbed and keep the springs aside for later use.
3.Loosen the timing belt tensioner and remove both ends of the timing belt.
4.Unscrew the screws on the Y-axis motor mount.
5.Carefully unplug the Y-axis limit switch and motor wires, then remove the Y-axis motor mount.
6.Slide the slider plate out of the Y-axis profile.
7.Replace the limit screws on the slider plate with M4*16 screws.
8.Remove the four POM wheels.
9.Insert M4*8 screws and M4 T-nuts into the long beam.
10.Place the auxiliary spacers on the machine's bottom case.
11.Position the long beam against the Y-axis profile on one side and the auxiliary spacer on the other. The rear end of the long beam should be approximately at the inclined surface of the bottom case. Then tighten the screws.
12.Use M3*6 screws to fix both ends of the linear rail to the long beam, but do not tighten the screws yet.
13.Use M3*6 screws to fix the short bracket to the slider.
14.Reinstall the Y-axis motor mount back into its original position.
15.Plug in the Y-axis limit switch and motor wires.
16.Place the round silicone spacer over the threaded hole on the support plate.
17.Use M5*8 screws to fix the slider plate onto the support plate, ensuring the correct orientation of the slider plate (the smallest corner of the slider plate should face the motor). First, screw into the two small holes on the slider plate (the two on the left), then install the remaining screws.
18.After sliding the Y-axis, tighten the screws that secure the linear rail. Also, install the remaining screws on the rail.
19.Secure both ends of the timing belt to the slider plate and adjust the tension to an appropriate level.
20.Reinstall the hotbed onto the slider plate, ensuring that the springs and hand-tightened nuts are not omitted.
The upgrade is now complete. You need to re-level the machine (please refer to the official tutorial) before printing. Thank you!
