My twin brother flies to Tennessee for one of the last times we’ll be home together before I leave on my 2-year LDS mission. It really hit us that this chapter of life is coming to an end.

We also had our family friends, ‪@TheFrielFamily‬ , come spend time with us in Tennessee. Kaitlyn is an amazing photographer, and I wanted her to take my mission photos before I head to Vancouver. These pictures mean so much to me, and I’m so grateful we were able to make it happen.

Of course, no trip is complete without a few hiccups—there were some travel issues along the way—but thankfully everyone made it safely. While waiting, Brock and Kesley and I killed time at the mall, grabbed some good food, and stopped for our favorite dirty soda at Swig (they finally opened a location in Tennessee and we were way too excited 😂).

Brock also packed my mom’s birthday gift to surprise her, which ended up being one of the sweetest moments of the trip.

The next day, I got ready and put on my mission suit for the first time—and honestly, seeing myself dressed as a missionary was such a surreal and emotional experience. It made everything feel real.
