There are at least 3,600 minerals that have been identified, categorized, and named. A much smaller percent, like 500-700, fluoresce. This case includes basic fluorescent minerals like calcite, opal, scapolite, ruby, scheelite, barite, willemite, celestite, hydrozincite, aragonite, and halite. But also includes some much harder to find samples .
