CWID continues to empower women across Kenya through sustainable, community-driven development initiatives. In Mombasa, the Emugur group has launched a series of impactful projects benchmarking at CWID aimed at improving the livelihoods of local women.
With CWID’s support, the women’s group has collaborated with other local women to implement mangrove planting, beekeeping, animal husbandry, and briquette charcoal making. These initiatives not only enhance environmental conservation by protecting coastlines and restoring marine ecosystems but also create important income-generating opportunities for the community.
Women are increasingly embracing beekeeping, briquette charcoal making which offers both economic benefits and environmental value through improved pollination.
CWID remains committed to uplifting women by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and resources required for long-term development and self-reliance.
