Te Awa River Ride (Lake Karapiro)

A pre-Covid19 (October 2019) spring morning scenic ride, on our way to our favourite cafe for breakfast overlooking Lake Karapiro. We rode a section of the Te Awa River Ride cycleway starting from corner of Carlyle Street and Maungatautari Road that goes past the Sir Don Rowlands Event Centre (and NZ Rowing Clubs) and ends through a scenic lakeside boardwalk section. Unbeknownst to us at the time, this would be the beginning of our cycleway video series where we would work our way along the Waikato River leading up to Ngaruawahia.

The Te Awa River Ride is a decade long project to connect Karapiro, through Hamilton and Cambridge, all the way up to Ngaruawahia. This video is about the lowest segment of this 66km long cycle way.
