This 13km tramping track spanning the range from Huntly to Ngāruawāhia offers views of the coast, the Waikato Basin, and the confluence of the Waikato and Waipā Rivers. I start at the Huntly end, tramp past Kauri grove to the summit then take the stairs (more than 1309 steps) down to the Mangarata Stream and into Ngāruawāhia.
