Turns out you can make him an atheist. Go to 6:32. He goes for a Zodiark and I have like 1 turn to stuff it somehow, so I start going through my options and find out that Disbelief works, so I hit him with it and he does 0 damage. Looks like you need to take at least 1 hp damage from Zodiark to learn it, so we have to let him believe in god again eventually. First thing is first, though: we kill all of his little homies. Then, we break the fuck out of his magic attack so that he can't hurt us much. Finally, we let him practice his faith long again long enough to steal his magic (17:20) and then send him to God.
I was so unbothered by this guy that I make a bunch of mistakes that were easily avoidable by just paying more attention to the combat timeline. Sucks to suck, snake guy.
Oh, if the numbers look a little weird, it's because this is Tactician difficulty.
