Dr. Ahmed Zewail is the 1999 Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, is the Linus Pauling Chair professor of chemistry and professor of physics at the California Institute of Technology, and a statesman who has received international awards for his contributions to science and public life. The degree of Doctor of Science, honoris causa, was conferred on Mr. Maeda on October 10, 2014.
