About this video: My July 2025 visit to Southern California resulted in my seeing a surprising amount of locomotives that I don’t frequently see out there. This includes locomotives from every class I freight railroad in North America, all in the span of 2 weeks (which is not common, as only two class Is operate in this area). Starting just east of San Bernardino on the world famous Cajon Pass, the first few clips show some surprise Canadian National and Ferromex locomotive visitors mixed in with the regular BNSF and Union Pacific Power. Next up are some appearances by CSX, Norfolk Southern, and CPKC on BNSF trains in Riverside and Oceanside. With a brief appearance in the middle of Amtrak P42DC 189 on the Pacific Surfliner (a route with trains almost exclusively powered by CalTrans SC44s), the video concludes with a few more appearances of Norfolk Southern locomotives in Fullerton and San Diego.
