Composed by M. Agallianos. Sung today. Fragment (Part I. The full score (30 minutes long) was premiered as sight-reading (in contralto register, austere ethos) on this channel on February 24th 2022, this is a second time reading it, vocalised in simple constantinopolitan ethos). Footage from Neamt Monastery, where the majority of the manuscripts on the channel were composed / copied / chanted, in the late 1700s. Icon by Theophan of Crete.
As a personal observation, from the hundreds of cherubikons premiered here, a huge variety composed by many saints, this one has “a je ne sais quoi” akin in thought with the original Axion estin and the original Fos ilaron - many similar theses and the overarching phrases and especially the type of concentration. It almost seems they were all conducted by the same Angelic Hand.
