In Part 4 of the series on creating a Scuttle doll from Disney's Little Mermaid, I sew the bird's body together, fill it with synthepone, and add a funny fur hairstyle! This step is perfect for handmade enthusiasts, Disney fans and those who want to learn mixed techniques in doll making. When creating molds I always make them roughly and try to match the exact shape of the character. In fact, to draw a suitable mold is not always possible, but you can always correct the first rejected version.
✨ What you will see in the video:
Sewing the body: I create a pattern and sew the parts for a perfect fit to the frame.
Filling with syntepon: How to achieve softness and volume while maintaining shape. It is important that when wrapping the wire it is not palpable to the touch.
Fur hairstyle: I glue the long fur to the head to convey Scuttle's signature “disheveled” look.
Seam Masking: I use trimmed fur to hide the seams and create a seamless look. This process is intricate painstaking and takes practice.
🔧 Materials:
Faux fur (long and short).
Syntepon (eco-friendly filler).
Textile glue and sewing tools.

Write in the comments what hairstyle you'd do for Scuttle - I value your opinion! Also, if you want a more precise and detailed lesson, write in the comments and I'll be sure to try to make a new video for a detailed breakdown in lesson format.
