Following the show in Québec City, naturally the boys go to Montréal. The quality of this is a mixed bag; some portions sound alright, some sound very muffled. Overall it’s a pretty alright listen. The show starts off with a very strong “Undercover Man”, but when we get to “Arrow” the first problems emerge. Right after the intro and first few verses, there’s some tech issues and the band stops it there. You can hear the taper and a few other people giggling, before the recording cuts out and comes back right after the first second of “Still Life”, which is another fiery one. The tape fades out again right at the end of “La Rossa” and “Meurglys III” starts midway through. “Darkness” returns here after quite a few months and would only be played a couple more times in 1976 before being dropped entirely until 2005. This tape contains something very special though, an improv in the form of a soundcheck captured with two different sounding recordings. It’s such a cool listen, you must hear it.
