성악열전 - 동희스님의 범패
국가무형유산 영산재 전승교육사인 ‘동희스님’은 비구니 최초의 어산어장 스님이다. 어산(魚山)이란 범음범패를 총칭하는 말이자 재를 드린다는 의미이며, 어장(魚丈)은 범음범패에서 최고의 수준을 가진 스님을 말한다. ‘동희스님’은 남성인 비구 중심의 어산에서 70여 년 동안 묵묵히 범패를 재장에 올려왔다. 이번 공연은 불교에 귀의한 구도자로서 또한 예술가로서의 면모를 확인할 수 있는 무대가 될 것이다.

Vocal Fever - Venerable Donghee’s Beompae
Venerable Donghee, an instructor for sucessor training of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Yeongsanjae, is the first female monk to attain the rank of “Eosaneojang.” “Eosan,” literally meaning “to perform ritual,” refers to Buddhist chants as a whole, and “eojang” denotes a monk who has reached the highest level in chanting. For over 70 years. Venerable Donghee has performed beompae chanting at Eosan, which has traditionally been dominated by men. In the festival stage, the audience will be able to see her both as a Buddhist seeker and an artist.
