LONDON BUS NEWS | Routes 318, 144 & 106 Are ALL CHANGING (TfL Bus Changes EXPLAINED) Arriva/GoAhead

New TfL bus tenders have been announced, involving three routes in north London.

Route 318 has been awarded to Go-Ahead, London General. The route is currently run by Arriva London North from Tottenham (AR) garage. Under Go-Ahead, the 318 will use existing diesel single decker buses. The route will run from Northumberland Park (NP) garage.

Arriva currently uses 9.0 and 9.7m ADL Enviro200 MMCs from 2015 and 2016. The route runs from Arriva Tottenham (AR) garage.
Route 318's peak vehicle requirement will remain at 9. The route's new contract starts on the 8th of November 2025. It ends on the 10th of November 2028.

Route 318 runs from North Middlesex Hospital to Stamford Hill. The route runs via White Hart Lane, All Hallows Road, Tottenham High Road, Bruce Grove Station, Tottenham Town Hall, Seven Sisters Station, South Tottenham Station and Stamford Hill Broadway.

Route 318 runs around every 12 to 20 minutes. The route runs daily, from 5:45 AM until 00:50 AM. Route 318 is 5 miles (7km) long. A full journey on the 318 takes 30 to 50 minutes.

Route 144 has been awarded to Go-Ahead, London General. The route is currently run by Arriva London North from Wood Green (WN) garage. Under Go-Ahead, the 144 will use existing electric double decker buses. It will run from Northumberland Park (NP) garage.

Route 144 currently uses Wright Eclipse Gemini 2s and Gemini 2 hybrids. ADL Enviro400s and Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 hybrids are often used. The 144 currently runs from Arriva's Wood Green (WN) garage.

Route 144's peak vehicle requirement will decrease. The route will now use 15 buses instead of 16.

The 144's new contract starts on the 11th of October 2025. It ends on the 8th of October 2032.

Route 144 runs from Edmonton Green Bus Station to Muswell Hill Broadway. The route runs via Edmonton Police Station, Angel Corner, Silver Street Station, North Middlesex Hospital, Cambridge Roundabout East and South Sides, Empire Parade, White Hart Lane, Wood Green Station, Wood Green Shopping City, Turnpike Lane Station, Turnpike Lane Bus Station, Tottenham Lane and Park Road.

Route 144 runs every 7 to 12 minutes. The route runs daily, from 4:30 AM until 1:15 AM. The 144 is 6 miles (10 km) long. A full journey on the route takes 30 to 55 minutes. The 144 has been run from Wood Green (WN) garage since it began in 1994.

Route 106 has been retained by Go-Ahead, London General. Brand new electric double deckers are to be ordered. These will replace the ADL BYD Enviro400 City EVs that are currently used.

Route 106's peak vehicle requirement will remain at 15. The route's contract starts on the 7th of June 2025. It ends on the 4th of June 2032.

Route 106 runs from Finsbury Park Station to Whitechapel. The route runs via Finsbury Park Road, Listria Park, Stoke Newington Station, Stoke Newington Common, Clapton Library, Clapton Station, Lea Bridge Roundabout, Clapton Pond, Hackney Baths, Hackney Central Station, St Thomas's Square, Mare Street, Cambridge Heath Station and Bethnal Green Station.

Route 106 runs around every 8 to 12 minutes. The route runs daily, from 03:50 AM until 01:50 AM.
