AI Cameras? Yes! Every Photographer Needs This! Wow!

Yesterday I had the honor of returning to H&R Block headquarters in downtown Kansas City for the incredible Blockonic event 💻✨

I hosted a personal safety workshop there years ago.

It was a day filled with cybersecurity, resilience, and innovation, and it reminded me how exciting it is to see AI used the right way in real life.There was a photographer everyone kept calling over 📸

I couldn’t figure out why until I saw her process. Naomi Hill was using AI facial recognition software on her camera. When she took your picture, she got your cell number, and from then on, every time she took another photo and you appeared in it, you instantly received a text message with your picture 🤯

That is AI done right ✅

Ethical, transparent, and brilliant. The photos were crisp, clear, and absolutely beautiful. Imagine every event where guests automatically receive their photos while the host instantly gets the entire gallery. It was seamless, smart, and safe 💡

For years I’ve taught about the dangers of facial recognition when it’s used irresponsibly, especially when people of color have been misidentified and falsely arrested.

What I saw at Blockonic showed the opposite side — AI used responsibly, safely, and with consent to make life easier and smarter.

It was wonderful seeing Dr. Cheryl Cooper, PhD Liz Enzor, Maria Singh, Lyndsay Noble, Doug Hohulin, and connecting with Women in Security Kansas City and Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) 💜👩‍💻💪

Now it’s a busy wrap-up to Cybersecurity Awareness Month 🔐🚀

📅 October 21: Teaching Generative AI Cybersecurity for Johnson County Community College Workforce Development 🎓🌇

That evening: Moderating the KC AI Club + Women in Security Kansas City Cybersecurity Awareness Panel at Mazuma Credit Union 🤝💻

The next day: Off to Illinois virtually for more AI cybersecurity education ✈️

🎤 Then that afternoon to speak to 200+ educators at the Missouri Education Association Conference 🏫

🏡 Finally, this month heading to Indiana to keynote a real estate conference about Generative AI and Cybersecurity 🏘️💬
