After learning Tzeltal in my last adventure travel video, I started learning Tzotzil, a related ancient indigenous language that's still spoken in the state of Chiapas, Mexico. I travelled to San Cristobal, the city with the largest population of Tzotzil speakers and learned the language with local native speakers, in the streets and in markets around the city. In this video I show you how much I was able to learn of the language after just two weeks of real-world study!
*Tzotzil descends from the proto-mayan language family, just like Tzeltal and Yucatecan Mayan.
