The KPS Project Book Tour is making its way to Nottingham on Saturday 24 May, bringing with it a powerful evening of storytelling, reflection, and inspiration. The event will be hosted by Minister Keisha Allen and begins at 6:30 p.m.
Spearheaded by Dr. Gertrude Shotte, the KPS Project brings together former students of the Kinsale Primary School (KPS) in Montserrat who have contributed to a heartfelt publication documenting their lives and journeys since the eruption of the Soufrière Hills volcano in the 1990s.
The book captures the resilience and strength of a community uprooted and reshaped by natural disaster. Through personal essays, the contributors share how the eruption impacted their childhoods and how they have navigated life ever since.“This tour is more than just a book launch,” said Dr. Shotte. “It’s a celebration of survival, memory, and identity. We want audiences to feel the spirit of Kinsale through the voices of those who lived it.”
Attendees can expect moving readings, cultural performances, and a chance to connect with members of the Montserratian diaspora. The event promises both entertainment and deep reflection.
