Playing the lost Garden Warfare ALPHA (Never Before Seen Xbox 360 Gameplay)

Last month an alpha build of Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare on the Xbox 360 was found and preserved online. Being code-named "plantsvszombies-gw-xbl2-alpha" and dated exactly at "2013-12-02 01:22:20Z", this was a multiplayer-focused demo that presumably allowed playtesters to try out both Gardens & Graveyards and Team Vanquish with only the base characters.

In this video, I decided to take a closer look at how the game may have looked like by emulating functioning AI players on the Main Street level (this is a developer mode called "GameSim_24Player" left in the files). I also forced unlock-all on the game so we can take a deep dive into how the old variants/abilities may have looked like. Note that the AI isn't programmed to play the objective, so for showcasing reasons I didn't bother to move further. Let me know if y'all want to see more gameplay of this in the comments below!

This was recorded on real Xbox 360 hardware using an external capture card, as the Xenia emulator doesn't properly support Frostbite titles such as this one. For more details on how to play this yourself, please check out the community discord (I will drop my own tutorial vid soon):   / discord
