DIVI Corporation is proud to present our rubberwood sawmill and the meticulous production process that transforms rubber trees into high-quality export products.
We source our rubberwood from the rubber plantations of the Vietnam Rubber Group. Once harvested, the rubberwood is transported to our sawmill, where it undergoes a series of precise processes to create superior timber for global markets.
In this video "Inside the Rubberwood Sawmill: How Sawn Timber Blanks Are Made", we will take you through the key steps involved in "The production process of sawn timber blanks at the rubberwood sawmill"—from the felling of the rubber trees to the final product.
1/ Felling Rubber Trees from the Plantation
Currently, we are harvesting rubber from 6,000 hectares of mature plantations, with an expected yield of 240,000 to 300,000 cubic meters of sawn timber, along with a substantial amount of wood chips. Rubber trees typically reach 25 to 30 years of age before their latex production decreases significantly, making them suitable for harvesting. This process serves as a major source of industrial wood.
The rubber trees are felled in rows, then cut into segments ranging from 400 mm to 1 meter in length. These are categorized into two types: timber for the sawmill and wood chips for boiler fuel. The straight trunks are cut into 1-meter pieces, while branches and curved sections are cut shorter, depending on their shape and size.
Once cut, the rubberwood is sorted and transported to the sawmill for further processing.
2/ The Rubberwood Sawing Process
At the sawmill, the rubberwood undergoes initial sawing to remove the outer bark. After this, the planks are sorted and moved to the defect removal area, where any knots, black spots, or low-quality sections are eliminated. This stage ensures that only the finest timber blanks move forward. The blanks are then classified by size and quality, prepared for chemical treatment.
The wood is placed in a pressure impregnation tank, where it is treated with a special chemical mixture to prevent termites and extend its shelf life. For wood that cannot be immediately dried, it is set aside to dry in the sun before entering the drying system. In the drying phase, the wood’s moisture content is reduced to 8% to 12%, ensuring optimal quality. After drying, the wood is inspected for defects before being stored or packaged for export.
3/ The Wood Chipping Process
Branches and twigs from the rubber trees, which are unsuitable for sawing into planks, are processed into wood chips. These chips are used as fuel for the boilers in our steam sale projects. Additionally, any leftover or defective wood from the sawing process is chipped and utilized as fuel, ensuring that no resources are wasted.
This is the complete " The production process of sawn timber blanks at the rubberwood sawmill," a process that reflects our dedication to efficiency and sustainability.
With over 15 years of experience, DIVI Corporation is committed to delivering top-quality rubberwood products at competitive prices.
