This first-of-its-kind national virtual summit to learn evidence-based fundamentals of mass violence preparation, response, recovery, and resilience was held on July 17, 2024. You’ll hear the power of the personal stories of survivors; lessons learned from civic, community and state leaders who’ve experienced the devastation of a mass violence incident; and practical tips to collaborate and create effective mass violence plans that are survivor-centered and address the behavioral and mental health needs of victims and communities.
This summit's contents are especially beneficial to crime survivors; local, state, Tribal and national victim services and behavioral/mental health providers; law enforcement and justice professionals; first responders and emergency management officials; civic and community leaders; and anyone who recognizes the importance of partnerships to prepare for mass violence incidents.
This virtual summit was sponsored by the National Mass Violence Center and the National Center for Victims of Crime, with support from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office for Victims of Crime, and hosted by the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
