G'day guys!
Today I'm taking off some of the old hatches, which have been weathered and worn. But we got some great brass fittings that we can clean up, which will look great! Then I get to work taking out the old rudder, this was a big job and I wasn't quite able to finish it, but soon we can use this old rudder as a template to make a new one - very exciting stuff!

About The Boat:
The Enchantress is a 1973 Formosa 41ft Ketch Sailboat, designed by William Garden and built by the Ta Chiao Brothers Boat Building company. It's fair to say that she has definitely enchanted me, and I want to bring her back onto the water with some simple restorations, plus add some modern items to make this a very live-able and enjoyable sailboat! I bought this boat second hand for $500, because I figured the sailboat was far too beautiful not to be restored. I love getting my hands dirty and doing DIY projects.
So if you love sailing, sailing boats, restoring old boats, or just want to learn more about how to repair an old fiberglass sailboat like this one, stick around and follow my adventures as I attempt to restore a sailboat for the first time.
