Bald patches on donkeys can be due to lice, ticks, fungus, or allergies. The best way to treat bald patches is through a two-step process. First, I treat lice with the Ultra Boss. A bath is given as soon as the weather warms up to 70 or more degrees. I do not spray the face or get soap in the eyes I hand wash. If you have treated the donkey with the two-step process outlined and your donkey is still itching and losing hair, a veterinarian needs to be called. You may have allergies. Treating allergies in donkeys is complex; most of the time, it is due to the immune system.
