Roma: l'osteria Checco er Carrettiere

Questo video racconta il ristorante Checco er Carrettiere, storica osteria romana con sede in Trastevere dal 1935.
Checco er Carrettiere è un ristorante trasteverino tra i più antichi; la mappa di Google così recita: ristorante romano con pesce di paranza, ma qui è di casa tutta la cucina romana classica.
E’ posto proprio alle spalle del fontanone dell’Acqua Paola che prospetta su piazza Trilussa, dove si trova il busto bronzeo del famoso poeta romanesco e dirimpetto a ponte Sisto; un luogo molto pittoresco.
Agli inizi della seconda metà dell'800, quando il Tevere non era stato ancora soffocato dai muraglioni, il carrettiere a vino Giuseppe Pedoni, soprannominato "er Burino" perché non aveva un "pedigree" tutto romano, aprì, al numero 13 di Via Benedetta, a due passi da ponte Sisto, la bettola che, un giorno, sarebbe diventata la famosa osteria romana "Checco er carettiere".
L'osteria disponeva di uno stanzone, in fondo al quale c'era il fornello e l'acquaio, e di un cortile interno.

The tavern had a large room, at the end of which there was a stove and a sink, and an internal courtyard.
