T-Type was Buick's trim level designation for the sportier variants of various model lines. The Buick Regal T-Type and the Buick Regal Grand National are the same cars, except the Grand National was only offered in all black. While Grand Nationals are on the rise in value/collectability, the twin brother T-Type has fallen under the radar, even though they are mechanically identical. They are built on the same platform and have the same engine. The only difference is cosmetics.

The 3.8-liter turbo V6 was one of the most advanced production engines available. Turbo charging boosts horsepower an incredible 81% over the normally aspirated version of the 3.8-liter V6, but an impressive 200hp. The turbo 3.8 is fed by sequential port fuel injection, developed exclusively for Buick. The Buick has power steering, automatic transmission with overdrive and a 3.42:1 performance axle.
