Planetary scientist Dr. Paul Schenk of the Lunar and Planetary Institute discusses what the Voyager missions to the outer solar system taught us about ocean worlds orbiting the gas giants. Launched in 1977, the twin Voyager spacecrafts’ views of outer solar system moons changed our perceptions of the solar system. This was the first presentation in the Lunar and Planetary Institute’s 2017–2018 Cosmic Exploration Speaker Series, “Diving into Ocean Worlds.”
