Every year, an important Jewish pilgrimage takes place in a synagogue on the island of Djerba. This sanctuary was built where, according to tradition, the “Ghriba” would have lived: a young holy woman, strange and mysterious.
After being the target of an attack attributed to Al Qaeda in 2002, access to the synagogue has been very secured during the pilgrimage. The procession that concludes the holy day is strictly protected by the security forces.
