Nudity and art: sculpting your body like a Greek God

Paul Michael Graves explores male nudity and art by turning himself into a marble statue.

Watch the artist Paul Michael Graves transform himself into a marble statue. Combining his love of photography, bodybuilding, and painting, he built his body like the mythical Adonis, covered himself head to toe with white paint, and performed a dozen classic bodybuilding poses in front of his own cameras, the Canon 5D Mark IV and the Canon EF "Black Beauty" 35mm film camera. Inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and referencing his Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding, Graves overcame years of chronic back pain to sculpt his body like Adonis, considered the ideal of male beauty in classical antiquity. He sat down with friend and fellow painter Ian Mack to describe how he combined Michelangelo and Arnold Schwarzenegger to create beautiful images of the art of posing.
