This session features Ambassador Carlos Sérgio Sobral Duarte, Secretary for Africa and the Middle East of the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil.
Carlos Sérgio Sobral Duarte is a Brazilian diplomat currently serving as the Secretary for Africa and the Middle East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil. He has built a distinguished diplomatic career, having served as Brazil’s Ambassador to India and Chile, and as Head of the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna. He also served as Deputy Permanent Representative of Brazil to the United Nations in New York. Throughout his career, he has been actively engaged in issues related to nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, contributing to various international forums.
